many other pkm are now offering non-exe version of windows binary so that all you have to do is unzip into a folder, and run. not need to install. when will a zip or .paf version of siyuan be available on a regular basis? has anyone created a paf version or method they wish to share? ultimately, it would be good to have the data files, working files, cache files, and program files, all within folders inside a single main directory, so that an 'installation' could be put on a usb key and moved easily to another pc

if it's so simple, why doesnt siyuan just release a zip version? i dont know how to compile.

You can just go to
%localappdata%and zip the SiYuan folder in there. The app will be portable but your worspace is not in that folder, it's proibably underC:\Users\%username%\SiYuan, so remember to carry it around along the app and point to it every time you open the portable SiYuan in a new machine.
