What is the "correct" way to move a block?

I noticed that moving a block between notes causes links to that block to break.

For example, imagine Note A contains a link to a block in Note B. That block is then moved to Note C. Following this, clicking on the link from Note A displays a message like this:

I would imagine this is not an uncommon process. What is the correct way to move the block such that existing linkage is preserved?
