Privacy and stability concerns

Some questions about the product:

  1. I don't trust US nor Chinese datacenters due to the mandatory data sharing with government, is it possible to build the app without connections to 172.67.208.160, siyuan-data.liuyun.io, siyuan-cloud.liuyun.io, and upload-na0.qiniup.com? I have looked through the code extensively and found nothing of concern, but any external connections that I didn't explicitly specify make me weary.
Sidenote: Most Western users will see the fact that even a single byte of data is going to Chinese servers as a reason to avoid the app, so maybe that's worth fixing.
  2. How stable is the data storage format? If I put 100,000 notes into it, will they look and function the same in 10 years? Will the links, formatting, and connections between notes remain stable over time? I am a little worried about longevity and vendor lock-in because it's not markdown.
  3. Are there plans to improve the mobile app? It's hard to use compared to Obsidian and the others, it feels like the desktop app shoved onto a phone.
  4. Can I help fix some of the broken english? The documentation has some, and the website too. How can I do this?

      Hello,

      1. This can only be modified by forking the project
      2. SiYuan is completely open source, no need to worry about format blocking
      3. There is no plan to significantly improve the mobile experience in the short term
      4. Welcome PR (website project https://github.com/Vanessa219/b3log-index)

      Thank you for your feedback.

@SternCat questions - are those connections still made if I'm using sftp?

I'm using pro license and setup my own sftp for the data storage, so not using chinese or US datacenters.

But it is still connecting to the US datacener I think - for license validation - right?

@88250 Will my notes still be usable in 5 years? How about 10? It's not based on markdown so I worry about non-standardization

.sy is an open source format. Even if we stop developing it, the format will not change and can be used for life.
