I think you might have some misunderstandings about SiYuan and its pricing.

SiYuan is a local-first notes software, so all of its content is stored on your device.

I think it's clearly stated here https://b3log.org/siyuan/en/pricing.html. It is different from Notion, and you need to build a knowledge base on your device.

The main differences between PRO and subscription are:

      1. PRO is a one-time payment, while the subscription is a recurring fee.
      2. PRO and subscription use the same synchronization technology, but PRO is designed for those who want to have control over their data synchronization. Therefore, you need to deploy your own S3 bucket/Minio/WebDAV.

      If you want to:

      1. Access and edit SiYuan notes in a browser
      2. Access and edit SiYuan notes from other devices via a browser
      3. Publish your SiYuan notes on the internet in read-only mode

These features are free, but you need to ensure your own security measures.

Were you looking to access Siyuan in your browser? What do you mean by "find your own knowledge base?"

I've encountered numerous hidden requirements and limitations that were not clearly communicated during the purchase process. Here are the main issues:

      1. No cloud access: Despite paying for PRO, there's no built-in cloud functionality. The pricing page DOES NOT clearly state this limitation.

      2. Self-hosting required: To use this, users must set up their own S3/WebDAV infrastructure. This significant technical requirement is buried in the fine print.

      3. Lack of immediate usability: After paying, I couldn't access any "knowledge base" as one would expect from similar note-taking apps. This is never stated and appears to be apart of the a system of scamming users using PayPal.

      4. Unclear distinctions: The pricing page fails to clearly differentiate between local features and those requiring additional setup.

      5. Poor support: Getting clear answers about these issues post-purchase has been challenging.

This vendor is using deception practices.

The lack of transparency regarding SiYuan's technical requirements and limitations is deeply concerning and is clearly misleading to customers.

I urge PayPal to refund my money, and I call on SiYuan to significantly improve their marketing clarity, product documentation and stop the deceptive practices.
